    Phenolic resin and plastics are the earliest industrialized synthetic resin in the world. Phenolic resin has excellent bonding strength and water resistance. It has high durability in high temperature and high humidity environment. Acid resistance and chemical resistance; It has the characteristics of extensive modification and can be used with many kinds of resins. It is a kind of structural adhesives with excellent properties.

    In the United States, Japan and some European countries, the amount of phenolic resin adhesive used in wood industry is more than twice that of urea formaldehyde resin. In our country, the amount of phenolic resin adhesive is less, the use of wood industry adhesive is more than 80% of urea-formaldehyde resin adhesive, the main reason lies in the manufacture of urea formaldehyde glue urea price is far lower than the main raw materials, phenol, urea-formaldehyde resin and the curing speed, therefore widely used in indoor use man-made board production. However, with the development of China's economy, the overall consumption structure is inclined to the construction industry, so the market prospect of outdoor wood-based panels is very broad. For example, phenolic glue particleboard can be used for outdoor wallboard, concrete formwork, packaging materials, flooring, and can replace some precious wood and some steel to make the carriage plate. In addition, it is worth mentioning that in recent years, the study found that fire accident ZhongYan and toxic gas release is a major cause of personnel injuries and deaths, flame retardant and combustion rate become the key performance indicators of construction materials, and phenolic resin composite material with incombustible, low smoke rate, less or non-toxic gas release, therefore, in the United States and other countries the amount of phenolic resin adhesive is very large.

    However, due to the disadvantages of phenolic resin adhesive, the demand of the market is limited.

(1) long curing time and low labor productivity of production line;

(2) the price is more expensive;

(3) it contains free phenol and free aldehyde, which can affect human health if excessive release.

In response to the above problems, the phenolic glue has been extensively modified, and the curing time of resin is shortened under the premise of guaranteeing the excellent physical and chemical properties of phenolic resin. Reducing the content of free phenol and free aldehyde in glue; Reducing the production cost of phenolic glue has become a research hotspot. It has made great progress in shortening the curing time of resin. It is an effective way to modify phenolic resin by using cheap urea to replace some phenol and the compound phenolic resin with fast curing speed and low cost.
